The west side of the waterfront seems to afford the best opportunities for daylight shots since the east side usually is in shadow. Buildings of the Seattle skyline and other features are then well lit by late afternoon and early evening sun. The view is of the slips where Argosy cruise boats dock including the Spirit of Seattle and Goodtime II. This shot also shows the ticket booth and departure point were visitors can board the Goodtime II for the cruise to Tillicum Village on Blake Island for a salmon dinner baked over an Alderwood fire in the Native American tradition.
For this shot, I walked out on the edge of Pier 56 on the south side of Elliott's Oyster House. If a more precise location is needed, here are the GPS coordinates for the Tillicum Village ticket booth: N 47,36.303 W 122,20.414.
